Newcastle United are plotting a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp this summer according to the report via the Daily Mail. It was disclosed that the Magpies have registered their quest to sign the 20-year-old.
Willock had a very good loan spell at Newcastle United during the second half of the last campaign. He had a return of eight goals in 14 games in the Premier League for the Magpies. The Arsenal playerscored in each of his last seven league gameslast season to become only the second Newcastle United player to achieve the feat after retired England national team player Alan Shearer.
Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce is keen on signing Willock, but his Arsenal counterpart, Mikel Arteta wants the player to stay at the club. Willock has been involved in preseason games for the Gunners this summer. He was a second half substitute during the friendly defeat to London rivals Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Willock scored what looked like a good goal when he came off the bench against Chelsea with the centre referee waving play on. His strike had clearly crossed the goal line and it could have prevented the Gunners from succumbing to a 2-1 loss to the Blues.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Skipp impressed while he was on loan at Norwich City in the English Championship last season as he helped the Canaries secure a place in the Premier League this season via the Championship title.
Skipp is back with Spurs for preseason and club officials see him as a potential first team player.
